Great product, but difficult for an ordinary person to tell what size needed August 19, 2010 Pom088 (Chicago) Great product, but difficult for an ordinary person to tell what size needed. I have no clue what liters my bags can hold. This was a gift for someone else though. I would never consider his bag an "extra-small".
Dry as british humor August 6, 2010 Michael M. Harding (Utah) This rain cover does the job, i got the Medium for my Gregory tricon 60 pack thats about 4000 cui, it worked great this past weekend in the Uintas when we got dumped on for hours on end. Everything in my pack was bone dry. No complaints here. (however if you pack things on the exterior of your pack make sure to compensate for extra cui when choosing size
Good value July 20, 2010 Jay Haack (NAUGATUCK, CT, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product is compact and lightweight. It takes care of our needs very well. It is easy to use and takes little room in the pack. In camparing other brands, the price is the lowest. Highly recommend.
Perfect, But . . . May 18, 2010 Cranky Old Guy (Hilton Head Island, SC USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's lightweight and adjusts to fit my backpack snugly. The black cover is perfect for those of us who like to hide our packs for day hikes. Put on your back cover, find a little brush 20 or 30 yards off the trail and it's gone! Just observe very carefully where you put it!
There are 2 things missing and although no other products do this, why not? 1. If you hang your backpack from a tree (critter protection) the gap in the back will let water in (this is bad). 2. If you have your back cover on and want to attach wet gear on the outside where it belongs, you can't do that either. The times when you need to do this coincide almost exactly with the times you need a pack cover.
Nice cover May 12, 2010 Giorgi Jokharidze 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the large one and it fit my 102 liter (6200ci) backpack well. Although you cannot put the cover on backpack if something big, like sleeping pad etc, is fixed on it externally. It's not an issue since 6200ci backpack is big enough to cram all the stuff into it.
I haven't examined cover's durability and I haven't had the cover in rain. However it's apparent that the cover is waterproof. But I'm not sure what may happen in rain. A backpack will probably be dry from the front, top, bottom and sides - the parts which are fully covered by this raincover. But what about the back which is open?? won't it get wet?? I don't know yet. When I try it in rain conditions I'll update this review.
