4 out of 5 stars Great value if you are looking for an external frame pack   July 4, 2010

If you are looking for an external frame pack, this is a great value. External frame packs have become an endangered species as internal frame packs have continued to evolve. I was looking for an external frame pack because I live in an arid environment and prefer the superior ventilation the external frame provides. As an adult Boy Scout leader I also like the ability to strap extra gear onto the frame - occasionally necessary to help lighten another's load. Looked high and low locally but could not find anything. Purchased online with no regrets. Pack has a great deal of adjustment to fit your body type (I have a long torso) and plenty of attachment points. It will also hold a hydration bladder - but beware, you will need to purchase the Kelty brand bladder. The Kelty bladder is designed to fit in the pack sideways and has the tube exit from the bottom. If you try to use a bladder that you already own you will find you can only get it about half empty.
Overall, a great value. I've had many people stop me on the trail to ask where they could get one.
