Amazon.com Product Description Stay out longer and go farther whether hiking on the trail or strolling through the city with the High Sierra Envoy lumbar pack. The Envoy, which offers 275 cubic inches of interior space, delivers hands-free, lightweight storage for all the little extras you don't want to leave behind. The bulk of the pack's storage is divided among a dual top-loading compartment for larger items, a pair of zippered side accessory pockets for smaller items, and a zippered front accessory pocket for your keys or ID. However, the bag also includes a CD/MP3 player pocket with a PVC headphone port, so you can easily listen to your favorite tunes while hiking. And to help you fit even more gear than a bag of this size should allow, the Envoy is equipped with quick-release compression straps.
The Envoy's CD/MP3 player pocket includes a PVC headphone port for private listening. | The Envoy is also built to keep you comfortable on the trail, with a durable waist belt with webbing keepers that adjusts to fit waist sizes between 21 and 55 inches, and a Vapel mesh padded back panel that wicks away body moisture. Other details include a contoured webbing daisy chain that lets you attach a carabiner or other gear, impact- and freeze-resistant hardware that performs well in adverse conditions, and reflective accent piping that provides added safety at night. A versatile travel companion for all your adventures, the Envoy measures 10.5 by 6.5 by 4 inches (W x H x D). Good multi-use pack July 15, 2010 Jason J. Sidel (Draper, Utah) We have used this pack for short (few hour) hikes and it works OK. After purchasing it, I think that I would like a backpack/hydration pack combo instead. However, it does really well. We keep a camera, protein bars, gps, first aid items and other goodies for our hikes. It looks stylish and you do hardly notice it when it is on.
great pack June 22, 2010 Y. betaorix i was worried that my 2 litre camel bag won't fit into the pack, delightfully, it did with a little strategy positioning.
love this pack, it's perfect for going for long walks with my dog (with his towel, snacks and water packed in).
improvements i would like:
1. some compartments for cards in the middle section
2. the strap is too long, and the contraptions to keep them from dangling everywhere did not really work
overall, i love this pack
Not water proofed June 6, 2010 Phoebe I think there are already a lot of pros/cons reviews, which I agree. The only complaint I have is that it's not water proofed.
Large May 30, 2010 M. Dana (Commerce Twp., MI USA) Very large, some might find too large. Many compartments. The straps in the front were a waste, did not see a use for them and cut them off, now am more happy with this. High quality design.
Relatively good product, but the straps need some work. April 28, 2010 Sean Booton Good product overall. Nice size and plenty of room to work with. The only complaint I have is the capability to adjust the straps and, more importantly, keep them in place... Once you have adjusted the straps to the correct size for your waste w/clothing, there is nothing to hold the straps securely, short of a plastic clip. The straps on the front of the item could use some revamping as well. Other than that, I found no major negative issues, and I believe this item will come in handy.
